At Covercem® we find different types of coatings for the renovation, protection, consolidation and restoration of mineral and cementitious supports. Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar

Covercem® Stone is a thin-layer concrete repair mortar. Despite being applied in layers only 1 to 2 mm thick, it has excellent mechanical properties and abrasion resistance. It is also very hard, it does not crack.

This aesthetic renovation mortar can be applied on a multitude of mineral and porous supports, as it presents unbeatable adhesion. It also provides a great consolidating effect on supports that are deteriorated while transferring a waterproof protection to them.

Offers finishes with different textures, among them non-slip. A concrete repair mortar that given its mineral character is highly breathable and fireproof. With Covercem® Stone, it can renew and transform vertical surfaces and concrete floors, imprinted concrete, brick, natural stone, etc.

An ideal coating for the repair and surface renewal of pedestrian lanes, terraces, pool decks or stairs, among others. Easy to apply and perfect for outdoor use, thanks to its resistance to UV radiation.

Based on selected aggregates, portland cement and high-performance additives, this concrete repair mortar can be pigmented with our Arcocem® pastes. Available in matte finish.

Where to use the Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar

As an aesthetic renovation mortar for restoration, heritage and theming.

For the renovation and repair of imprinted concrete, natural stone, brick and other mineral and cement supports.

Superficial and aesthetic repair of corners, damaged edges, chipping and small breaks.

Concrete repair mortar suitable for walls, floors and facades. Both indoors and outdoors.

It can be used on walks, pedestrian lanes, pavements, patios, terraces, pool covers, stairs, walls and floors.

How to apply the Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar

1. Protect the perimeter and areas where the Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar will not be used. Especially if the supports are metallic, lacquered, glass or wood.

2. Clean the support from dust, grease or dirt. Use Ecoclean Construction diluted 1:4 in water to remove hygroscopic salts, efflorescence, mold, etc. For more general dirt, greases or pollution marks, do it with Ecoclean Pro diluted 1:4 in water.

3. If the support is varnished or painted, remove the coating with sanding or stripping. If a repair or joint sealing is necessary, perform before the application of Covercem® Stone.

4. Mix the mortar with water in the following proportions: 20 kg of COVERCEM® STONE per 6 L of water. Previously incorporate the water into a container and, with mechanical agitation at low revolution, gradually add the mortar until achieving a homogeneous and lump-free mixture.

5. Let the mixture rest between 3 and 5 minutes. Then, stir again. In the case of porous surfaces, moisten the support without leaving puddles.

6. Covercem® Stone is a colorless concrete repair mortar. Previously pigment the water with Arcocem® Basic or Arcocem® Plus pigments, depending on the desired color.

7. Apply two coats of Covercem® Stone at an ambient and support temperature that must be between 5ºC and 30ºC. Without excessive wind. Allow to dry between 4 and 6 hours between coats.

8. Once the support has dried after the application of the concrete repair mortar, it is necessary to proceed with the sealing. Protect the pavement or wall with two coats of our Sealcem® WT or Sealcem® DSV varnishes.

9. The total curing of Covercem® Stone is between 7 and 14 days.

If you want to achieve a contrast effect that is more similar to imprinted mortar, you can use the dispenser with Desmocem® Liquid with color. Of course, once the support is dry and clean after having applied the second hand of Covercem® Stone.

If areas saturated with colored release agent are observed, either at the time of application or once the support has dried, apply colorless Desmocem® Liquid to reduce the inequality.

Precautions for the concrete repair mortar Covercem® Stone

It is a concrete repair mortar that we do not recommend placing on those surfaces previously painted with other systems. We refer to plastic paints, epoxies, polyurethanes, varnishes, etc. For these cases, it is necessary to remove the previous coating before applying Covercem® Stone.

Powder product whose packaging must be disposed of in accordance with legal regulations.

Close immediately after each use to prevent it from drying or thickening.

It is recommended to comply with the following measures to apply this concrete repair mortar:

Ensure good ventilation at the time of application

Have a dust mask, FFPP2 or FFP3.

To avoid unwanted splashes, use protective glasses.

Protect hands with rubber gloves.

Mineral consolidator for polishing Covercem® Xtrem

Covercem® Xtrem is a mineral consolidating coating with nano lithium silicate and special polysiloxanes. Designed for the consolidation and waterproofing of mineral supports, mortars, imprinted concrete, polished concrete, brick, natural stone, microcement, etc.

The main particularity of this mineral consolidant for polishing is that it provides waterproof character to the supports. In this way, it considerably increases its protection against water as well as different atmospheric agents such as humidity, water or wind. A product that due to this uniqueness is suitable for exteriors, especially for polished concrete due to its finish.

A high-penetrability fireproof mineral consolidant on mineral supports and a great power of consolidation through crystallization and solidification. It protects and consolidates mineral supports in restoration, heritage and theming.

It does not affect the color of the support at all, thus respecting the original texture of the support. It also does not allow substances or liquids to penetrate the supports, preventing the possible appearance of permanent stains. Totally ecological, free of biocides and dangerous substances. Quick drying to the touch, between 1 and 2 hours at 23ºC.

How to apply the mineral consolidant Covercem® Xtrem

1. Clean the support with our Ecoclean range to ensure a good application and absorption on the support. Use Ecoclean Construction diluted 1:4 in water to ensure the removal of hygroscopic salts and the opening of the pore. Use Ecoclean Pro diluted 1:4 in water for the remains of pollution, fats and dirt in general.

2. On varnished and painted surfaces, sand or strip. Carry out a repair or joint sealing if necessary before applying the mineral consolidant Covercem® Xtrem.

3. Define the areas where the product will not be applied. Especially if these are metallic, lacquered, glass or wood.

4. Apply two coats of the mineral consolidating coating Covercem® Xtrem. It can be done with a brush, roller or by spraying. It can be done from pure to diluted 1:1 in water. Allow a drying period of between 4 and 8 hours between coats.

5. For polished concrete floors, distribute Covercem® Xtrem well using a mop. This ensures a correct distribution and absorption in the support. Polish the surface until you get the desired shine and finish.

Do not leave excess or leftover product of Covercem® Xtrem. The application of this mineral consolidant with waterproofing properties must be done at an ambient and support temperature between 5ºC and 30ºC. As for curing, it is approximately one week.

Precautions for the mineral consolidant Covercem® Xtrem

Non-flammable mineral consolidating coating. At the slightest contact with the eyes, rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Also seek medical assistance. Wash with soap and water if there is contact with the skin. Do not use solvents or thinners.

Factors to consider when applying Covercem® Xtrem:

Good ventilation.

Protect the face with a mask with chemical absorbent and protective glasses to avoid splashes.

For hands, use rubber gloves.

Colors mortars repairers and consolidators Covercem®

The concrete repair mortars and mineral consolidating coatings belonging to the Covercem® family share the same color range. With the exception of Covercem® Xtrem. A total of 24 shades that, depending on the varnish applied to the coating, offer one finish or another.
